Dead Dad Club is a record label and now thanks to Gumbo FM, a radio show, surprisingly not about dead dads but good house music. A veritable smorgasbord of local talent under various guises and aliases, producing a hotbed of raw deep heat for your aural pleasure, all funnelled into a radio show through the label boss Lee Wraith. Close your eyes and imagine you’re in a packed basement, system banging out warm bass, sweat dripping off the celling, this show aims to provide the soundtrack to that basement. It’s not just all mixing, there’s some chat but there’s no talk of drops, breakdowns or commercial house slang, no progressive or hands in the air ‘electro’ house. It’s just the heaviest deep house available, no fluff, no filler, all solid gold heaters! So tune in on the forth Wednesday of every month to hear/see a totally fresh show, even though we feel that good music has no shelf life, it’s doesn’t need playing constantly, so no re-hashed tracks, at least not yet.
